Tattoo Junkee Lip Paints at Walgreens
(retail: $6.99 each; matte liquid lipstick + glitter top coat)

Another new matte liquid lipstick at the drugstore? Yep! Here's the scoop (plus a swatch!).

Many thanks to reader Jean (@gingerlovesmakeup on Instagram) for this sighting. She spotted a display for a new brand of matte liquid lipsticks at Walgreens last week and kindly shared some pics.

As you can see, you get a matte liquid lipstick and an accompanying glitter top coat for $6.99. The shades in the display pic above are:

  • Past Curfew (purple)
  • Pucker Up (red)
  • Miss Popular (pink)
  • Hipster (orange)

There are additional shades in this line, which you can view on the Tattoo Junkee website HERE

Pucker Up, as swatched by Jena

Reader Jena (@jenasaisquoii on Instagram) purchased the red shade, Pucker Up, and kindly shared the swatch above. As you can see, this lip color dries to a matte finish, and it has intense pigmentation. Jena also mentioned that this lip color was actually tough to remove (true to its "tattoo" name, I guess!), and a few of you on Instagram also mentioned that these have crazy staying power so...you've been warned!

Have you spotted this display at your local Walgreens? Have you already tried any of these lip colors? If so, I'd love to know what you think!

Thanks again, Jean and Jena, for the great pics and info. I really appreciate it!

  1. These are available year round at Wal-Mart - the packaging is different, but the same product. I have hipster, and it is a really good matte liquid lipstick.

    2. Sephora makes an oil type lipstick remover. I got it on sale for 5.00 and it takes off EVERYTHING.

  3. I know someone who wears this during roller derby bouts. It had crazy staying power.

  4. Sometimes I put primer on my lips before I put on a color that I know stains my lips. It's seems to help a little bit and the color still stays.

  6. Wow I went to the link above to their web site. They have a video with all kinds of Body Art tattoos and glitter with stencils and great lip colors. Also a correcting pen for if u go outside the lip line and removes it. Like the Elf makeup Remover Pen. Flawlessly. They have some great products especially coming up for Halloween Fun.

  7. These are in a permanent display at Walmart and I've seen them for quite some time but never tried them. I'll see if I can get you a pic!

  8. Oils (vegetable oil, cleansing oil, etc) will rip these suckers right off your lips and skin without ripping off anything else. :P I like to use lip balm/gloss that has petrolatum in it since it takes the lipstick off pretty easily. No extra elbow grease needed. No oily foods if you go out to eat wearing one, because they'll just take it off too, unless you're intending to take off your lip. I need to go to Walgreens, however, to scope these out. I want to know what other colors they have since someone said they got Whatever there. Otherwise buying online from Tattoo Junkee is going to happen.

  9. I just bought two of these based on the comments in the post, Whatever and Past Curfew, and I am not pleased. They are super drying, beyond normal matte lipstick drying, and crack/peel easily. I can just run my finger over it when it's dry and it flakes right off. Not impressed. :\

  10. Not impressed whatsoever. I was eating flakes of the color Vixen all night long. It was even getting stuck in my teeth. Not cute. Then when I tried to take it off i could not for the life of me get it to budge. It was flaking off all night but then once I needed it gone it was impossible to remove! Unbelievable and honestly I'm just plain dissapointed. I love the color, it was super pigmented, but everything else about this product sucked.
